CLARENCE “CASEY” M. POHLMAN, JR.
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN
FORMERLY OF ELDORADO, WISCONSIN
Age 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. He was born September 15, 1915 in Winneconne, WI; son of Clarence Sr. and Elizabeth (Blankenhagen) Pohlman. Casey entered the U.S. Army on March 30, 1942 and was honorably discharged on December 27, 1945. He loved being a dairy farmer in the Eldorado area and enjoyed working in his garden and orchard on his farm. Casey was a poet and had many of his poems published throughout his years. He was a very caring and giving individual and will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and many friends.
Casey is survived by a sister: Ruth W. Pohlman of Waupaca, WI; seven nieces: Virginia (Daniel) Driver of Waupaca, WI, Jeanette (Don) Kalwitz of New London, WI, Dorothy Allen of Weyauwega, WI, Donna (Darwin) Krenke of Fremont, WI, Barbara (Frank) Dobbert of New London, WI, Betty (Larry) Foley of New London, WI, and Mary (John) Fields of Hollywood, CA; three nephews: Harold (Sandy) Romberg of New London, WI, James (Betty) Romberg of Weyauwega, WI, and Gary (Lynn) Romberg of River Falls, WI; and a nephew-in-law: Harold “Ike” Hidde of Appleton, WI. Also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Elizabeth Pohlman; two brothers, Harvey and William Pohlman; a sister, Eunice Romberg; a niece, Linda Hidde; and a nephew-in-law, Ron Allen.
A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend John Schmidt will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
A special thank-you to the staff at Bethany Home, Dr. Daniel Sutton, and Reverend John Schmidt for all of their help and support for the past two years. The special care Uncle Casey received will never be forgotten.
