Clifford Kuokkanen's Obituary
Clifford Bernard Kuokkanen, age 95, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011. He was born on March 12, 1916, in Duluth, MN to Matti and Alma (Walimaki) Kuokkanen, who preceded him in death. His family moved to West Allis, WI, when he was a small child. He lived there most of his life until moving to Waupaca with his daughter's family in 2005. He loved to golf and bowl, travel, read, was interested in nature, and enjoyed watching sports on TV. In later life he enjoyed taking the bus to the casino. He married Margaret Haubert on May 20, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI. She preceded him in death in 1979. Son, Gary Kuokkanen, preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include his daughter Joyce (Ron) Kellner, grandchildren Joan (Bob) Kellner Wehrman, Richard Kellner, and John Kellner, and great grandchildren Alyssa Kellner, Aaron Kellner Wehrman, and Eva Kellner. On June 18, at 11 AM, a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at his daughter's home at N2321 Whispering Pines Road, Waupaca, WI. Any donations to the family will be given to Whispering Pines State Park to construct and install a bench overlooking Marl Lake in memory of their beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather.
