Dear Terry, I am sorry for the loss of your mother. When my mother , sister, and I would visit Waupaca, it was common to stop at your folks house to say hello. Mom always appreciated your mother's friendship. Your mother told my mother of Camp Miquano and I was able to go there for a couple of weeks many years ago. As my sister, Sally, noted, it was a pleasure to have lunch with your mother and sister in the Spring of 2008. It was a wonderful get together and a real treat to visit with both of them. It was evident that our mothers were close friends. ( Our mother passed away in 2016). My sympathy to you and your family. Bob Wood

Dear Terry and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Corey was a childhood friend of my mother Beverly Hoffmann Wood. My mother moved to Seattle in 1982, and was only able to visit Waupaca about once every few years for the Grand Reunions of Waupaca High School. Your Mom kept my mother informed of all the Waupaca news, and they regularly wrote letters.

In 2004, my mother's ability to travel was limited after she broke her leg. She needed a walker and eventually a wheel chair to stay mobile. In April 2008, my mother and I took a train trip to Wisconsin. We spent a few days in Waupaca so Mom could visit with friends and family.

Your mother was very active. She was driving a white jeep when she met my Mom for lunch at the Waupaca Woods Restaurant. Your sister Cathy and my brother, Bob Wood, joined them for lunch. They had a wonderful time that day. Shortly after our visit, sadly, your sister Cathy passed away. Now your Mom can be with her and your father.

Your mother was a very sweet person and a very special friend to my Mom. We all met at your house on High Street back when we were little kids, in approximately 1958.

I met Corey and Darold at Kramer's Print Shop in Waupaca in the 1970s, as they helped us with the Camp Waupaca yearbooks each summer. They were both so warm and inviting. Though my camp days were long over, I kept in touch with Corey and Darold, and would make it a point to visit with Corey each summer when I visited Waupaca. She remembered all the details of my life and truly cared about me and my children. I would call her each year on her birthday, and she always got a good kick out of that!

Corey was more than a printer for the campers and staff at Camp Waupaca. She was a mother, sister, mentor, aunt, and cheerleader. Even after the camp closed in 1988, one of our annual pilgrimages was to her lovely home on High Street to visit with her. Corey was gracious and truly cared about her former "campers and counselors." On behalf of all of us with the Camp Waupaca Reunion Group we offer her family our sincere condolences.
