Craig P. Dake's Obituary
Craig Paul Dake passed away unexpectedly Friday March 6th, 2015. Craig was born in Oshkosh WI June 18th, 1971. When Craig was 7 years old his family moved to Waupaca, WI. Craig attended Chain-O-Lakes elementary, Waupaca Middle school and eventually graduated from Waupaca High School class of 1990. Craig Started his wrestling career in Waupaca Youth Wrestling and continued through high school where he won many matches and tournaments and set many school records under coaches Chuck Peters and Wayne Verdon. Craig took 2nd place at the Wisconsin State Tournament his sophomore year in 1989. That same year Craig was featured in the "Wisconsin" section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and entered into the "Who's Who among American High School Students 1988-1989". Craig would take the time to pass on his wrestling knowledge with anyone who needed his help
Upon graduation in 1990 Craig spent many years living and working in Madison WI. He also spent time living in Oostburg WI, Weyauwega WI, Roscoe IL, and most recently Naples FL and Fremont WI. Craig took on many jobs over the years working in many aspects of construction from plumbing and electrical, drywall and painting to argon detection. Craig left evidence of his handy work in many of our homes, businesses and churches.
Craig enjoyed sports, fishing, deer and small game hunting, skiing and golf. Craig also enjoyed spending time with family at events like birthdays, weddings and holiday and was "all in" when it came to helping out in any way possible. He loved his family deeply, was a wonderful protector and especially adored spending time with his nephews and nieces. Craig was deeply sweet and consoling during times of sorrow and sadness and his presence is greatly missed.

Brother-in-law; Eugene Smith, Almond. Nephews and nieces; Benjamin (Lacy) Smith, Plover. Devon and Anthony Smith, Almond, Kiefer and Alicia Dake, Fremont, Patience (Derek) Juve, Winchester. Samantha Gonzales, Waupaca. Chloe, Carah, and Quinn Dake, Waupaca. Megan, Briell and Aliyah Nicewander, Waupaca. Uncles and Aunts; Nancy Sobojinski and Kay Robinson both of Oshkosh. Mary (Lavere Ehlers) Bruflat, Neilsville. Craig is also survived by Great Nieces, many cousins, and friends whom he loved very much.
Craig was preceded in death by Grandparents; Paul & Verlie Nichols, Edgar Dake, and Albert & Julia MacAdam. Uncles; Edward Sobojinski, Richard and Steven MacAdam. Cousins; Christopher Charles, Coleen Lindell, Nicholas Ahrens, Richard and Benjamin Barrailler and Simon Bruflat.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Waupaca, at 11 AM on Friday, March 13th, 2015. Interment will be at Spencer Lake Memorial Park, Town Lind, Waupaca Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5 until 7 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Craig Dake.
