Dace Van Gompel's Obituary
Mrs. Dace Van Gompel, age 66, Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, October 19th, 2008 at her home on Pine Lake. Dace was born in Latvia, on July 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Janis and Emma (Piesis) Knostenbergs. On October 29, 1966, she married Martin Todd Van Gompel in Little Chute. Dace and Todd operated THE HUT drive-in in Waupaca for 42 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family on Pine Lake and adored her grandchildren. Dace's strength, courage, love and faith are an inspiration. She is survived by her Husband: Martin Todd Van Gompel, Waupaca; Son: Marty (Heidi) Van Gompel, Waupaca; Daughters: Brenda (Steve) Jamroz, Neenah; Holly (Sean) Colligan, Appleton; Grandchildren: Jonah & Anna Jamroz; Norah Van Gompel; Riley & Patrick Colligan; Brother: John Knostenberg, Appleton; Sister: Mara (George) Berzin, Seattle, WA. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 25th, 2008. Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Holly Funeral Home-Waupaca. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wisconsin. A.J. Holly & Sons LTD
