Darlene M. Olson, age 71, of Waupaca, WI , passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, WI. Darlene was born in Escanaba, Michigan on May 12, 1938, the daughter of the late David K. and Violet Johnson.
On September 14, 1957, Darlene married Floyd I. Olson. Darlene worked at Greenfield High School for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Waupaca. Darlene volunteered at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was a compassionate person who loved her family and friends very much..
She is survived by her husband: Floyd Olson, Waupaca, WI; her two sons: Steve (Stacy Schultz) Olson, Madison, WI; Kevin (Valerie) Olson, Germantown, WI; her grandchildren: Skyler Olson; Victoria and Derik Vollert; her brother: Richard (Nancy) Johnson, Kirtland, Ohio. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Johnson and a sister-in-law, Cindy.
The Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Waupaca at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2009 with Reverend Martin M. Rich, officiating. There will also be a Funeral Service on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 1 PM at Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba with Rev. Scott Harmon, officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Escanaba, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 AM until 1 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Waupaca and on Tuesday from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Holly Funeral Home, Waupaca, assisted the family with local arrangements.
