Darlene K. Manske's Obituary
Darlene K. Manske, age 74, of Wild Rose, WI passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 after battling Pancreatic Cancer. Darlene was born in on August 12, 1942, the daughter of the late John A. and Myrtle (Jensen) Jenks. She was raised on a farm south of Saxeville with 5 older brothers. Darlene graduated with the class of 1961 from Wild Rose High School. On March 19, 1966, Darlene married Allan C. Manske of Pine River. They lived on part of her parents farm near Saxeville. After high school, Darlene went to work for the Wild Rose Hospital & Clinic, doing lab work and receptionist from 1961 to 1968. She was the janitor for St. John's Lutheran Church, Saxeville from 1970 to 1980. For over 30 years, Darlene was the Treasurer for Hilltop Cemetery retiring in 2015. She enjoyed gardening, canning, doing puzzles, crocheting, sewing and making lots of crafts. She also enjoyed vacationing on the Tiger Cat Flowage for over 30 years with her family and her brother, Cal and his family. Darlene loved her trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Niagara Falls, Rose & Lyons, New York. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, Clayton & Cally. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Saxeville. Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 51 years: Allan Manske, Wild Rose; her sons: Dennis Manske, Saxeville and Steven (Debby) Manske, Saxeville; her two grandchildren: Clayton & Cally Manske; her brothers: Calvin (Betty) Jenks, Wild Rose; Daniel (Leola) Jenks, Wild Rose and Larry (Evelyn) Jenks, Saxeville; her sister-in-laws: Erna Fredrick, Pine River and Donna Jenks, Wild Rose. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Douglas and Eugene Jenks, brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws on the Manske side of the family, Dennis, Vernon, Russell, Irma, Carol, Dorothy, Chet Coda & Dennis Rodencal. The Funeral Service for Darlene will be on Friday, March 10 at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Saxeville with Reverend Rick Engen, officiating. Darlene will be laid to rest at Hilltop Cemetery, Saxeville. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 9 AM until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are greatly appreciated to St. John's Lutheran Church, Hilltop Cemetery Assoc., Southern Care Hospice Services and First Responders of Saxeville. Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
