David "Dave" S. Kolka's Obituary
David (Dave) S. Kolka, age 85, of Wild Rose passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at home. He was born on November 20, 1936 at home in Wild Rose, WI to Frank and Barbara (Blaha) Kolka. He was a 1954 graduate of Wild Rose High School and a proud member of the school's first football team (GO ROSIES !).
Dave married Lois Wrage on September 11, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma, WI where he was a lifetime member.
He farmed the family farm until he retired. While farming, he also worked at the Wild Rose Creamery Co-op and the Plainfield Feed Mill. Dave was a Supervisor for the Town of Rose and a Waushara County Board Member for many years. He enjoyed hunting, reading, watching western movies, Sunday drives, vacationing out West, listening to Country music, and, of course, following the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years: Lois; Daughters: Cheryl (Duane) Pionke, Kathy (Mark) VandeCastle; Son: Darrin Kolka; Grandchildren: Tony (Rachel Nett) VandeCastle, Aaron VandeCastle, Alec VandeCastle, Braelyn Pionke; Brother: Jim Kolka; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother, George; Sister, Evelyn; Sisters-In-Law, Beverly and Patricia.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wautoma at 11AM on Monday, September 26th, 2022, with Father William Evans, officiating. Interment will be at Bohemian Cemetery, Town Rose, Waushara Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church.
