Dean J. Davies' Obituary
Dean John Davies was born on February 8, 1949 in Stevens Point to Dean and Dorothy Davies. He passed on January 1, 2025 peacefully at home with family. Dean & Kitty were married 8/23/1969. Dean began his career at Wild Rose Lumber Company in construction. A few years later, he joined his Dad in the Pabst Beer Distributorship, Dean Davies Distributing Co. After the sale of the distributorship, Dean began working as a liquor salesman with General Beverage. You may also have seen him on Sunday mornings at Davies Variety & Liquor.
Dean had many pastimes over the years, including golfing with friends, pitching for the Red Fox softball team, bowling at the Rose Bowl, poker in the Poker Palace, and shooting pool at several local establishments a few of which some of his generation may remember: the Cabaret, Midway Tap, and the Wild Rose Hotel. The pastime closest to his heart was, without a doubt, hunting and "hunting" at Long Lake Lodge. Dean never missed an opportunity to "drive through town to see what's happening."
Dean is survived by his wife, Kitty F (Williams). Daughters: Teri (Jeremy) Kubasta, Andrea Davies, and Kayla (Bryan Werch) Davies. Grandchildren: Ethan & Dylan Kubasta, Colton & Stella Werch. Brothers: Gregg (Alice) Davies, Tom (Kathy) Davies. In-laws: Judie Davies, Lynne Davies, Kay Williams, Kara (Christopher) Blake. Many nieces and nephews. Too many dear friends to list.
Dean was preceded in death by his Parents, Dean P and Dorothy I Davies. Brothers: Rick & Scott Davies. Nieces: Laura Davies & Stacey Hill. In-laws: Meb & Rob Williams, Keith Williams, Giles Williams. Too many dear friends to list.
A special thanks to his Theda Care Hospice team.
Per Dean's request, there will be a party at the Wild Rose Lion's Club (formerly known as Dean Davies Distributing Co.) Saturday January 18, 2025 at 11:00AM. Lunch and beverages will be provided. The family will be donating any memorial gifts to Waushara County EMS Station 2 Wild Rose.
