Delphine D. Shulfer's Obituary
Delphine D. Shulfer, age 93 of Stevens Point passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Willow Brook Assistant Living. Delphine was born on December 31, 1930; daughter of the late Ben and Althea (Marquard) Zywicki. She married Leonard Thomas Shulfer on September 25, 1948, he preceded her in death on June 20, 1966. On October 11, 1969, Delphine married Leonard John Shulfer, he also preceded her in death on September 6, 2003. Delphine worked at Multipak, Meadow Inn Restaurant as a cook. She also was the custodian at St. James Catholic Church and sewed many banners for the Altar. Delphine was also a custodian for the Amherst School District and provided cleaning service for many people in the community. She enjoyed baking, making her famous blackberry pies, biscuits, homemade noodles and dozens of other goodies.
Delphine is survived by her children Delores “Dee” (Roger) Lepak of Polonia; Karen J. Shulfer of Amherst Junction; Wally (Karen) Shulfer of Amherst; Bonnie (Bill) Bronk of Custer; Sandy (Dan) Ustruck of Amherst Jct.; son-in-law Donnie Platta of Custer; grandchildren Ken (Mary Jo) Platta, Ron (Julie Bruski) Platta, Donna (Keith) Gullikson, Julie (Corey) Jorgenson, Dave Platta, Kari (Griff) Firkus, Ryan (Jenny) Lepak, Jed (Amanda) Shulfer, Josh (Rose) Shulfer, Chelsea (Brandon) Fay, Emily Bronk, and Angie (Kevin) Erickson; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Judith Kitowski, Lynette Woyak, Jeanette Batten; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Delphine is preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, 2nd husband, daughter Mary Ann Platta, and brother Harold Zywicki.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. Burial will follow at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, January 9th at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst with Rosary service at 7:00 PM.
