Diane S. Konkol's Obituary
Diane S. Konkol, age 77 of Amherst Jct., WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family in Minneapolis, MN. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and heart complications. Diane was born on March 13, 1946; daughter of the late Jay and Kathryn (Dreier) Rogers in New London, WI. On August 22, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart Robert “Butch” Konkol in Amherst.
Diane was loving, selfless, smart, funny and a great cook. Her “Happy Place” was at her cabin up north in Eagle River where she loved going on pontoon rides, fishing, watching the eagles and pulling the grandkids in tubes on the water. She especially loved the holidays where she spoiled her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved reading, puzzles and being outside. She made the very best canned pickles and chocolate chip cookies. She was an avid golfer most of her life, winning many trophies along the way. She loved playing cards and games and laughing. She always looked forward to her birthday gatherings/lunch with her group of good friends. She is taking a piece of all of us with her and she will be so missed.
Diane is survived by her loving husband; Butch Konkol of Amherst Jct., children; Cindy (Bill) Boyer of Custer, Kevin (Jill Adrianne) Konkol of Amherst Jct., Rodney (Charity Uhl) Konkol of Amherst, Allen Konkol of Stevens Point, grandchildren; Brittney (Eric) Antonitsas, Mac (Samantha) Sowiak, Carly (Garrett) Groshek, Kole (Sammi) Konkol, great-grandchildren; Leyha, Jazmyn, Keelah, TJ, Kamara, Ariyah, Jackson, William, Jase, Remi, Westen, brother; David (Amy) Rogers, also many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
