DONALD R. BACON
AMHERST, WISCONSIN Age 84 passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Iola Living Assistance in Iola, WI. He was born November 29, 1923 in the Town of Rose, Waushara Co., WI; son of Reuben and Alice (Sipher) Bacon. On June 6, 1946, Donald married Lucy E. Holman at Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca, WI. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2004. Donald farmed in the Amherst area for the past 50 years. In the last twenty of those years, Don and Lucy were “snowbirds” and spent their winters in Mission, Texas. He was a member of Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca. Donald will be greatly missed by all of his family. Donald is survived by:

Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucy Bacon, daughter, Donna LaVoy, and a half-brother, Burnett Redman. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Joan C. Frost will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in the spring at the Greenvale (Dopp) Cemetery in the Town of Belmont, WI. A memorial has been established in the name of Donald R. Bacon. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
