Donald K. “Bud” Christensen
King, WI Age 86 – died on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI. He was born on February 4, 1923 in Crandon, WI, the son of Louis and Laurana (Kolgen) Christensen. He married Ione Dehart on March 12, 1948 in Elkhart, IN. Donald is survived by his wife; Ione of Waupaca, daughters; Sally (Douglas) Christie of Waupaca, and Janice (Thomas) Paul of Salem, OR, grandchildren; Ian Christie of Waupaca, and Jennifer Paul of Eugene, OR, and a sister; Shirley (Jerry) Stevens of Merrill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Francis, Jerry, Orvil, Harry, and Allan, and sisters; Hilda and Myrtle. Donald had been employed as a plant manager with the former F.W. Means Company in Appleton, WI. He had worked for the company for 39 years, retiring in 1985. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd of The Lakes Church in Waupaca, WI on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 4:00 PM with the Reverend David Martin, officiating. Interment along with Military Honors will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
