Donald D. Galyardt's Obituary
Donald D. Galyardt, age 85, of Waupaca, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born November 28, 1933 in Kinsley, KS; son of Henry and Mary (Vogel) Galyardt. Don served in the U.S. Army prior to getting married to Joyce Knudson where they created a family of four children. He worked most of his career as a FORD parts manager in Weyauwega, Waupaca, and New London. Don enjoyed motorcycles, camping, hunting racoons and deer, and being a snowbird for several years in Yuma, AZ. He later married Christine Zuege in 1979 in New London, WI. Don will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Christine Galyardt; three children, Donald (Lynn) Galyardt, Michael (Kathy) Galyardt, and Deirdra (Michael) Vande Voort; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Galyardt; a son, Kurt Galyardt; a brother, Harold; and three sisters, Virginia, Velma, and Ilene.
A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Ron Siemers will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place at a later date at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
