DONALD J. THOMPSON
A.K.A “PUNKY” OR “BIG DON”
WAUTOMA, WISCONSIN
FORMERLY OF RACINE, WISCONSIN Age 62, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 while doing what he loved the most, deer hunting. He was born March 23, 1947 in Racine, WI; son of Lawerence and Ruth Betty (Woelfel) Thompson. On December 11, 1970, Punky married Priscilla Klus in Iron Mountain, MI. After graduating from Horlick High School, he worked at Twin Disc, and then Don Hutson’s Chevrolet, Berman-Shaver Chevrolet, Frank Gentile Oldsmobile, and Ray Wilkinson Buick Cadillac in Racine, WI. Punky was currently employed at West Side Garage in Berlin, WI. He was a Master Mechanic. Punky lived in Racine all of his life until moving to Wautoma in 1996. He was an avid hunter and loved to race cars and work on cars. Punky also loved Nascar, working in his yard and garden, where he was always building something. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Punky enjoyed farming with his cousin, George, on his John Deere Tractor. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone and give awesome advice. Punky always put others first before himself. He was the BEST dad in the whole world and will be deeply missed! He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ruth Betty Thompson, Uncle Hank, Aunt Liz, Aunt Bernice, and his dogs, King, Prince, and Bear. A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 2:30 PM at West Holden Lutheran Church in Wautoma, WI. Pastor Todd Murken will officiate. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:30 – 2:30 PM at the West Holden Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Donald J. Thompson. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. A Second Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4649 Lorna Avenue, Racine, WI. Reverend Hilbert Kamps will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Donald J. Thompson. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
