Donald Retzke's Obituary
Donald M. Retzke, age 59, of Amherst, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 at his home after a difficult fight with cancer. He was born in Mikwaukee, WI on December 24, 1949, the son of Benedict and Florence (Ueberfluss) Retzke. Donald married Lucy Kenowski on July 29, 1972 in Plover. Don worked as a Finishing Supervisor at Kimberly-Clark Neenah Papers for twenty years. He was an avid racing fan. Donald enjoyed deer hunting, snowmobiling, shooting pool, but most especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by Wife: Lucy Retzke, Amherst, WI; Children: Chad (Amanda Calhoun) Retzke, Lake Mills, WI; Wendy (Chad) Pritzl, Waupaca, WI; Grandchildren: Autumn Wierzba, Waupaca, WI; Beau Pritzl, Waupaca, WI; Savannaha Retzke, Lake Mills, WI; Sisters: Linda Retzke, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Judy (Larry) Muns, Milwaukeee, WI; Kathy Retzke, So. Milwaukee, WI; Rita (Art) Bourget, Grafton, WI. Donald is further by survived nieces, nephews, other relatives. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a brother, Joe Retzke. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church - Fancher, with Father Raymond Pedretti officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 until 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and on Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice staff and the Oncology Department at St. Michael's for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Donald's name.
