Donata "Nettie" Hintz's Obituary
Donata “Nettie” Hintz passed away October 29, 2015, at the age of 99. Nettie was born in the Town of New Hope March 23, 1916 to Lucian and Anna Zblewski. She was the third oldest of twelve children. On June 11, 1937, she was united in marriage to David J. Hintz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. David passed away in 1985. She spent her entire adult life in the Amherst area as a homemaker, helping to raise a family. She was very active in St. James Catholic Church, serving as president of the Ladies Sodality for a number of years. Other hobbies included cooking and baking, knitting and crocheting, and actively supporting her growing family-especially at basketball games.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters, and four brothers.
Nettie is survived by her brother Joe (Karen) Zblewski of Albion, MI, and a sister Esther Zblewski of Madison, WI. She is also survived by four children, Robert A. (Betty) Hintz of Rothschild, WI, Rita (Brian) Kozlowski of Stevens Point, WI, Roman (Sue) Hintz of Plover, WI and David J. (Jennifer) Hintz Jr. of Amherst, WI; thirteen grandchildren and thirty great- grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 2, 2015 at 11 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. Father Dan Hackel will officiate, with burial to follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 until 5 P.M. at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 4:45 P.M. A visitation will be held again at the church on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M.
The family wishes to thank Stevens Point Care Center for their professional, respectful, and compassionate care of Nettie. They would also like to thank Father Bob Pedretti, retired priest of St. James, for his many years of friendship, support, and guidance.
