I first met Donna back in 1994.My mother had a paper route which she delivered papers to Manawa,bringing her to Donna's Manawa Cafe each morning.Donna had been looking for a cook,so she had a help wanted sign in the front window.Donna and my mother would talk on occasion,as she would put the newspapers in Donnas newspaper machine.Donna had asked her if she knew anyone that might be interested in the job.She told Donna she'd mention it to me next time she saw me.So she called me up and explained what Donna was looking for.I thought I'd give it a try,so I drove there to apply that Monday morning.Donna immediately welcomed me with that high strung spirit she always had.Excited as we both were,I started that very day.She was very great boss,always full of laughs and full of fire.I always looked forward to each day working next to her in the kitchen.Donna was very special to me right from the beginning.I owe her alot,It is because of her that I met my beautiful wife Dawn,who I've known for 30 years now.Dawn also worked there as a dishwasher and a waitress.Donna brought us together and I'll always be greatful for that.Rest in Peace Donna, you'll always have a special place in both our hearts.
