In Loving Memory of Dorothy “Linde” Bergman
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Bergman, fondly known as “Linde” by many friends and relatives, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 96. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she was a source of love and inspiration to all who knew her.
Born on October 24, 1928, Dorothy had a remarkable talent for creativity and artistry. She was an exceptional seamstress, known for her meticulous attention to detail and the beauty she brought to every project. She also had a passion for painting and Rosemaling, often crafting cherished pieces for her family and friends. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of the church.
Dorothy and her husband Lee were proud “snowbirds,” spending their winters in Florida. While there, they enjoyed playing bridge, shuffleboard, and building a vibrant community of friends.
She is survived by her children: Debra (James) Stroik, Jensen Beach, FL; Scott (Diane) Bergman, Stevens Point, WI; Carole (Jim) Starr, Plover, WI; Jim (Donna) Bergman, Green Bay, WI; Beth (Mike) Kessenich, Verona, WI. Grandchildren: David Stroik; Robert (Kristen) Stroik; Christen Phillips; Michael Bergman; Daniel (Danielle) Starr; Emily (Nolan) Langeland; Holly (Ryan) Simmons; Adam (Brianna) Bergman; Heather Sheer; Matthew (Ashley) Kessenich; John Kessenich; Anna Kessenich. Great-Grandchildren: 21. Brother: Richard (Darlene) Lindquist. Sister-in-law: Edith Rae Lindquist. Brother-in-law: Charles Olsen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Jr. and Hulda Lindquist; her husband, Lee Bergman; her daughter, Julie Bergman; her granddaughter, Sarah Bergman; her brothers, Glenn and Norman Lindquist; and her sister, Diana Olsen.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Dimensions Living for their loving care and to Interim Healthcare (hospice) for their compassion and support during this time.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Friday, January 31st, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst, with the visitation beginning at 10 AM. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, with Reverend Gerhard Wilch, officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, following the church luncheon. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dorothy will be remembered for her creativity, faith, and the joy she brought to so many. Her gentle heart, beautiful creations, and unconditional love will remain a legacy cherished by all who knew her.
