Dorothy L. Cornwell's Obituary
In memory of Dorothy Louise Cornwell from Plainfield WI died on Friday, March 13, 2020 at her Racine home. She was born on November 24, 1924 in Plainfield, WI. Dorothy led an exemplary life and would often be quoted as saying I didn’t do it my way, I did it the Lord’s way. She always felt at home and ease through her life whether it was farming, the soil testing business, Sentry Insurance, or relaxing lakeside in Racine. She had a passion and love for her family and friends and enjoyed her time in Plainfield bowling and at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She leaves this world instilling in all who knew her, a sense of hope and love.
Dorothy joins Ora and Mary Cornwell (Parents) and Don Cornwell (Brother) in heaven. She lives on through those who survive her: Maxine Cornwell (Sister-in law), Cindy Cornwell (Niece- who took tremendous care of Dorothy later in life), Don Cornwell (Nephew) and his children (Emma, Lydia, and Gustin). Pam Schneider (close friend and blessing), and the many relatives and friends that knew and loved her.
“Aunt Do” as she was lovingly nicknamed experienced the pain and beauty of life for over 95 years. Her life filled numerous people with incredible joy. Long live her joyfulness as it lived on through us.
The family would like to thank the Aurora Hospice team ( especially Katherine and Brianna) for their loving and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. John’s Lutheran Church 1165 Co. Road D Almond, WI 54909.
A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
