Dorothy E. Grant's Obituary
Dorothy E. Grant age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at the Preston Place in Redgranite, WI. Dorothy was born on August 24, 1918 in Racine, WI to Jesse and Marie Acklam. After high school, she went to become a registered nurse, leading to lifetime friendships with many of her classmates. She married the love of her life John Grant on November 2, 1940 and they had three children, daughter Linda, sons John (Jay) and Robert (Robbie).
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Linda Thomas and son Jay (Carol) Grant, daughter-in-law Dorothy Clark, 6 grandchildren Greg (Jill) Thomas, Beth (Mark) Schall, Kelly (Brad) Holt, Kerry Grant, Robert Grant and David (Tiffany) Grant, and 9 great grandchildren Jake (Allison) Thomas, Bryan Thomas, Arik and Alec Schall, Tye and Kaylee Holt and Carlee, Naomi and Destinee Grant.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John Grant, her son Robert Grant and son-in-law James Thomas.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Preston Place Assisted Living Facility and Agnesian Hospice Care. As per Dorothy’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held.
