Dorothy King's Obituary
Dorothy I. King, age 87, of Almond, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2007 surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Dorothy was born in the Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co. WI on November 7, 1919, the daughter of the late Max and Molly (Pommerinke) Lemke. On March 7, 1939, Dorothy married Donald J. King at St. Johns Lutheran Parsonage in Almond. Don preceded her in death on March 9, 1995. Dorothy worked as a telephone operator and at Buckstaff Co. in Oshkosh in her early years. Dorothy loved cooking, baking, sewing, needle point, charity work, camping and fishing with her family. She especially loved her flower garden and antiqueing. Dorothy is survived by her sons: Donn J. King of Almond; Doug J. (Nancy Shambaugh) King of Almond; Dennis J.(Margaret) King of Amherst and Dave J.(Cheryl) King of Almond; Nine Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren and her brother: Fred (Louise) Lemke of Stevens Point and Sister-in-laws: Jackie and Lois Lemke. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and two brothers, Bill and Joe Lemke. Funeral Service will be on Thusday, May 31 at 11 11 AM at Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond with Reverend Daniel Iwinski, officiating. Interment will be in the Almond Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday eve. from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.
