Dorothy M. Myren's Obituary
Dorothy Marie (Pivovar/Jacobson) Myren, age 67 of Saxeville, WI, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. She was born on March 28, 1956 in Kenosha, WI; daughter of the late Casimir and Margaret (Fairbanks) Pivovar. Dorothy graduated from Mary D. Bradford High school in 1974 then went to UW Parkside where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dorothy interned at Kenosha Hospital in the Medical Technology program in 1979. She further went on to obtain her specialty in microbiology. Dorothy was very proud of her job working in microbiology at the hospital and enjoyed teaching new students.
Dorothy was married to Larry Jacobson on March 21, 1981. Larry preceded her in death on June 5, 2000. Dorothy was blessed to find another love, Michael Myren whom she married on August 16, 2003. Known for her laughter and smile, Dorothy enjoyed playing softball, hiking, biking, kayaking, cooking, baking and doing crafts with her grandkids. She also enjoyed doing projects around the home and home repair. Dorothy enjoyed preparing meals for summer parties, packer games and holidays. Dorothy was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. She retired in 2016 and enjoyed her garden and sharing time with her husband Mike up at Lake Kristine. The two of them loved to travel and spent many of weekends exploring the state. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She often volunteered at St. John’s and she was part of the altar guild and quilters.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Mike, children Jennifer Jacobson, Kristine (Trey) Salsbury, stepsons Jason (Jennifer) Myren, Kevin (Alainka) Myren, grandchildren Gavin, Brayden, Lauren and Avery Salsbury, Elise Myren, Floyd and Malcolm Myren, siblings Margaret Gertz, Jerry La Cosse, Jane Reynolds, Terri Schlitz, Tom (Jayne) Pivovar and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, brothers Bill and Joseph, sisters Carol and Ruth, nephew Kirk.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. John’s Lutheran Church – Saxeville, autism society of Wisconsin or plant a tree in her remembrance.
