Dorothy Williams' Obituary
Dorothy Williams, age 93, of Waupaca, formerly of Wild Rose, WI., joined the Church Eternal on Monday, February 28th, 2005. She was born in Stone Mountain, Georgia on August 31, 1911 to Walter and Catherine (Bannerman) Harvey. Dorothy graduated from Redgranite High School at the age of 16 and attended the Oshkosh Normal School for 2 years. She taught for two years in Port Edwards, beginning at the age of 19, then for 9 years in Wild Rose before her marriage. Dorothy returned to teaching in 1957 and finally retired in 1975. Dorothy married John O. Williams on September 20, 1941. To them were born three children: Robert J., Roger H., and Graeme O. Williams. Dorothy has been a member of the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church, and she served as organist for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Hospital Auxilliary. Dorothy enjoyed high school sporting events, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: 3 Sons: Robert J. (Nancy) Williams, Wild Rose; Roger H. (Mary) Williams, Wild Rose; Graeme O. Williams, Neillsville; 9 Grandchildren: Bart (Wendy) Williams, Grand Rapids, MI.; Bret (Sybil) Williams, Boston, MA; Bruce (Stephanie) Williams, Wild Rose; Bryon (Brenda) Williams, Princeton; Casey (Kirsten) Williams, Kansas City, MO.; Kristin Williams, Minneapolis, MN.; Andy Williams, Wild Rose; Michael (Alicia) Williams, Wild Rose; Susan (friend - Walter Hennings) Williams, Wisconsin Rapids; 7 great-grandchildren: Alissa, Kaitlin, Joshua, Caleb and Cavan Williams, and Jaden Hennings and Jared Brewer; and 1 brother - George Harvey, Berlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - John who died on December 4, 1995 and 2 brothers - Robert (Gordon) and Lyle. Funeral Services will be held at the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 3rd, with Pastor Alyson Janke, officiating. Interment will be in the Caersalem Cemetery, Town of Springwater, Waushara Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:30 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Patterson Memorial Library, Wild Rose Hospital Auxilliary or Wild Rose Presbyterian Church.
