Dorothy Winkler's Obituary
Dorothy G. Winkler, age 103, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Dorothy was born in Waupaca on April 12, 1912, the daughter of the late Corry and Edith (Rasmussen) Wood. Dorothy's first marriage was to Leslie Curtis in Waupaca and he preceded her in death. Later she married Lawrence Winkler and he also preceded her in death. Dorothy was a longtime Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church in Waupaca. She had taught for over 25 years and was very active in the Ladies Aid. She had worked at Campbell's Restaurant, A & P Store and Haertel Monuments all in Waupaca. She was an avid coin collector in the winter time and enjoyed gardening her flowers in the summer. Dorothy is survived by her son: William Curtis, Waupaca; her grandson: Michael (Wendy) Curtis, Green Bay; her great grandchildren: Aarich & Micalley Curtis and her sisters: Viona Jorgenson, Wild Rose; Lois Dorschner, Waupaca and Ellen Reed, Oshkosh. She was also preceded in death by her parents a son, Donald Curtis, a daughter in law, Jean Curtis and two brothers, George & Kenneth Wood. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, October 14 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Waupaca with Reverend Dee Ann Woods, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Park, Waupaca. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the church.
