I worked with Doug at Harpak-Ulma. He was a wonderful man to know as well work with. I am so sorry and sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to your family. I will always have fond memories of Doug and he will surely be missed.

I send my thoughts of strength and support at this time of loss. I met him at the grocery store where his sharp sense of humor was a welcome reprieve from the day to day, almost none of my coworkers understood it, but to those who did take the time to learn his style of humor came to enjoy it well. He was a bright spot in the day, I will miss him.
Doug was a great guy, smart and funny. It was a pleasure to work with him, and know him as a person, not just as a colleague. Although we never spoke often, we both would enjoy a good laugh from time to time when we did. I had the fortune of my first training with him at Harpak, and of course he tried to get the new guy to carry his tools. He laughed that he got my "hair up", and told me he would have laughed louder if I had. I will truly miss our conversations about family, friends and work, to which he was very proud of having.
I will miss him, and offer my sincerest condolences to all that loved him.

The first time I met Doug was at a National Beef Plant in Pa. We had fun working and fun after work. He played a joke on me since I was new guy he asked 6 maintenance guys to meet us at Applebee's and we would pay for their meal. Everybody was having fun and Doug said he was going to the restroom. I kept talking with the maintenance guys. I got a phone call from Doug he said the meals are on you I'm at the hotel.
Best part of Doug he was very good about texting me every Christmas and New Year.
I did not get any text last year at Christmas or New Year so I knew something was wrong, but I did not text him. His daughter called me telling me about Doug. She did not know I worked for Harpak because my area code was 540. I explained that I got a local area code so my wife and family could call me with long distance charges.
Doug was a great person and man we will truly miss him, I know I will. Best to family you lost a good guy.

Doug's Friend from first day I met him
I have a fond and funny memory of Doug. He and I were working in Harpak's shop in Easton Ma. It was on an old Mondini tray sealer that Harpak picked up somewhere. We were troubleshooting an electrical problem and after reading the prints and looking at everything 2 hours later we found it. We were like two kids finding treasure, laughing, high fiving dancing around it was a good day with Doug. Of course we celebrated later with some Jack and Crown. I will miss him and his sense of humor.
