Duane "Shorty" R. Johnson's Obituary
Duane “Shorty” Johnson, age 89 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at his home. Duane was born in the Town of Amherst, Portage County, WI on September 3, 1934, to Clarence and Evelyn (Jorgenson) Johnson. On October 22, 1955 he married Zephrene Garski in Detroit, MI.
Duane is survived by his children; Duane (Julie) Johnson, Diane Midkiff, grandchildren; Crystal (Brian) Ristow, Ryan (Sara) Johnson, and Samanth (Joe) Pinkart. Duane is further survived by five great-grandchildren, siblings; Kenneth, Robert and Lila (Jim) Champlin, sisters-in-law; Theresa Johnson, Violet Johnson and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Duane was preceded in death by his wife Zephrene, his parents and four brothers; Clarence Jr., Clair, Joel and James.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca, WI. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
