E. Keith Manock's Obituary
E. Keith Manock age 82 years of Almond passed away at home with his family by his side on April 2, 2012. He was born on July 10, 1929, the son of the late Arthur and Eva (Rodgers) Manock in the Township of Trivola, Illinois. He married M. Dannielle Fix on June 6, 1964 in Almond. Their children include Rodger (Deb) Manock of Omro; Michael (Amanda) Manock of La Crosse; Danny Manock of Stevens Point and Susan (Andy) Besaw of Bancroft. Their grandchildren include Alex, Melissa of Omro; Landon and Carter of La Crosse, Bradley and Luke of Bancroft. Their godchildren include Jeremy Potts, Almond; Alexis, Sam, and Charlotte Peagram & their parents: Byron & Jill Peagram of Fond du Lac; Holly Ann, Megan, & Sarah Chojnacki and their mother: Amy Anderson of Plainfield. Other family includes his brother: Russell (Betty Ann) Canton IL, and sister-in-law: Barb Manock, Avon IL, along with other numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Ralph and Gale and his sister: Virginia. Keith was a self-employed carpenter for many years working side by side with his father until he was hired with Wolohan Lumber Company where he was employed in 1968. He continued to work in the same building with Stock Lumber when that company bought out Wolohan Lumber. He retired in 2008 after 40 years of assisting customers with finding just the right item needed for their projects. Keith also was a member of the Almond Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of United Methodist Church in Almond. After retirement Keith kept very busy gardening, walking, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. Keith bravely battled sickness after being diagnosed with Leukemia in 1999. He was stricken with Kidney cancer in 2008 and Melanoma in 2009. The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, April 7 at 11 AM at Almond United Methodist Church with Reverend David Leistra, officiating. Memorial visitation will be on Friday evening from 4 to 7 PM at the church continuing on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Almond Village Fire Dept. or Joseph's Hope Food Pantry. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of Ministry Medical for all their help and support through these difficult past weeks.
