I can't tell you how sorry I am to learn of Coach Earls passing. Over the years (69) I have often thought of how important he was to me. He was the best teacher/coach I ever had, and feel honored to have known him like I did. He will always be in my memories.
Jan and Family,
Sending my deepest sympathy.

Had the pleasure of being coached by Mr. Herbert. Taught all his athletes more than just about the sport itself, was a real life mentor. My prayers and sympathy to the entire Herbert family. RIP COACH

I've never met a more sincere and genuine person. As a new coach just stating out, Earl was an inspiration to me. I'll never forget his jelly bean relays. Rest in peace, old friend.
