EDMUND W. BRISSETTE, JR.
KING, WISCONSIN Age 80, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born June 1, 1930 in Menominee, MI; son of Edmund and Cecilia (Heimboch) Brissette, Sr. Ed lived in Marinette until completing high school. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade and High School (new Catholic Central), graduating from there in 1948. Ed then attended Marinette County Teacher’s College for two years, and then enlisted in the Air Force for four years. He was in Korea for 13 months during that war and part of 1952. After that, he served in several places in the United States. Upon discharge, he attended Nebraska State Teacher’s College, graduating in 1956 with a B.S. degree in Education. Ed taught school for 18 years in the Milwaukee Public School System, and then moved back to Peshtigo, WI in 1974. While in Peshtigo, he spent five years owning and operating the Peshtigo Stamp and Coin Shop. He was elected Peshtigo City Assessor in 1978, was re-elected nine more terms, and served until retiring in 1998. In September of 1994, Ed married Claire DeWindt of Oconto and lived in Peshtigo until moving to Oconto in 1998. They then moved to Waupaca and lived there for six years. Ed is survived by:

Nephew: Damia Dohr He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Cecilia Brissette, Sr. and his only sister, Monica. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Sister Cathy Wottreng will officiate. A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Main Chapel in King. Burial will be at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI.
