Edna Rickert's Obituary
Edna Ruth Rickert, age 97, of Poy Sippi, WI, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 27th, 2009 at the Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was born January 2, 1912 on the Family Farm in the Town of Leon, Waushara County, the daughter of Edmund and Jessie (Hanson) Lindekugel. Edna married Loren Rickert on March 19, 1941 in Berlin, WI. Loren preceded her in death on December 29, 1989 after 48 years of marriage. Edna was a lifelong resident of Waushara County.She enjoyed Home Arts Homemaker's, crossword puzzles, gardening, bus tours, crocheting, and writing poems for her grandchildren. She was a life long member of the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church where she dedicated her time as a Sunday School Teacher and church treasurer. She is survived by Sons: Donald (Judy) Rickert, Pine River, WI; David (Janet) Rickert, Pine River, WI. Grandchildren: Liza (Les) Fritz, Redgranite, WI; Raymond Rickert, Hollandale, WI; Susan (Lincoln) Plain, Burnsville, MN; Troy Rickert, Omro, WI; Karla Rickert, Oshkosh, WI; Great Grandchildren: Andrew and Peter Fritz; Sophie Rickert; Zachary Plain; Jake and Jimmy Rickert; Brother: Norman Lindekugel, Pine River, WI; Sister: Lucille Gates, Poy Sippi, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her Parents; her husband, Loren; Sister, Esther Snell; and a Granddaughter, Jodi. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Poy Sippi United Methodist Church, with Reverend George Groves officiating. Interment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 PM until 8 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and on Friday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service.
