Edward C. Lutz, Jr.'s Obituary
Edward (Ed) Carl Lutz, Jr., age 85, of Amherst Junction, WI, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Sylvan Crossings, Stevens Point, WI. Ed was born April 28, 1930, in Amherst Junction, WI. He was the son of the late Edward Lutz, Sr., and Hattie (Strauss) Lutz. Ed attended Portage County Grade school and graduated from Amherst High School in May 1947.
After graduation Ed moved to Milwaukee to work for the American Motor Company, were he met and married his now wife Helen M. Schuler on August 25, 1951. When Ed was laid off from his factory job, Ed and Helen moved to Ed's family farm in Amherst Junction, WI, where they took over his father's dairy farm operation. Ed was an avid bowler and bowled several times a week until a stroke in 2009. He also enjoyed playing cards.
Ed is survived by his wife Helen; his three children Donald (Charlotte), Linda (Tom) O'Day, Dale (Ruth) as well as many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Ed has one surviving sister, Lorraine Price residing in California, and several nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Evelyn Konkol.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst at 11 AM on Saturday, March 19th, with Reverend Donald Johnson, officiating. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church.
