Edwin W. Akright Sr.'s Obituary
EDWIN W. AKRIGHT age 92 , a long time resident of both Sheboygan and Waupaca, WI passed away on November 22, 2008 in Atlanta, GA where he had been residing with his daughter and her husband. Mr. Akright had fought a courageous battle with cancer. Edwin was born on October 20, 1916 in Soldiers Grove, WI the son of the late Claude and Rena Akright. Edwin married Johanna Otte on December 25, 1939 in Sheboygan. They celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary in 2000. His beloved wife, Johanna passed away on Feb. 8, 2001. Edwin is a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca. He is survived by his children: Edwin W. (Linda) Akright Jr., Howards Grove, WI; Lois A. (Warren) Wills, Atlanta, GA and Peter J. (Wilma) Akright, Rabat, Morocco, Africa; Six grandchildren; Eight great grandchildren and Eight great-great grandchildren and a sister: Jeanette Akright, Sheboygan, WI. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Edwin will always be remembered for the love and friendship that he shared with others. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Chuck, Robert, Hank and Paul. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 20 at 11 AM at First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca with Reverend Bob Bohn, officiating. Interment will be in the Spencer Lake Memorial Park, Town of Lind, Waupaca County, WI. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the church.
