Elaine and I shared a special friendship. We had lots in common and always had a good time together. We also worked extremely well together and I admired her professionalism.
When I got engaged, Elaine immediately volunteered to help me plan and stage the wedding. The joke was that without her good taste, I would have gotten married in a bowling alley with a potluck, instead of having an elegant wedding at a beautiful winery. We worked really hard together to get everything ready and Elaine was invaluable to me.
I miss her so much!

Elaine and I were great friends in Salinas, Ca. while attending Alisal High School. We were cheerleaders together and friends throughout high school, hanging out together in our many activities. I had not seen or heard from her since, but our memories together will always stay close to my heart. Sending prayers and condolences to her family.

I am sorry to learn of Elaine's passing. I met her in the 80’s when she taught at Scott School in Portland before becoming the Principal at Creston. When she retired I followed her as Creston’s Principal in 2003. The reason I requested a transfer there was due to Elaine’s expert leadership and focus on excellent literacy instruction. She graciously welcomed me to “her school” and shared her knowledge and time with me to make a smooth transition in leadership. I am thankful for her friendship over the years including a wonderful trip to New Orleans for a conference! The flight there was tumultuous where food was flying! Oh my we laughed about that flight every time we got together. Rest in peace, Elaine. You left too soon but I know you are peaceful and worry free.
