Ella H. Guthu's Obituary
Ella H. Guthu, 91, of Waupaca, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Crossroads Care Center at Crystal River in Waupaca. She was born on February 11, 1927 in Fremont, WI, the daughter of Paul and Irene (Schmidt) Schiesser. Ella graduated in 1945 and joined Sylvester Guthu in marriage on June 12, 1948. After working for Zwicker’s Knitting Mill for over 35 years, Ella retired and spent the rest of her life doing the things she enjoyed most. She loved babysitting and spending time with children. Ella also had a passion for walking and nature.
Ella is survived by two daughters, Donna (Richard) Fazel of Menasha, WI and Karla (Douglas) Hadley of Rensselaer, NY; a son, David (Debbie) Guthu of Waupaca, WI; a sister, Gertrude Waller of Waupaca, WI; a brother, Leonard (Caroline) Guthu of Waupaca, WI; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester; her parents; four brothers, Everett Guthu, Eugene Guthu, Leslie Guthu and Carl Schiesser; and two sisters, Bertha Beyersdorf and Shirley Ann Schiesser.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI beginning at 11 AM. Pastor Ronald Siemers will be officiating. Friends and family may call from 10 until the time of services. Interment will take place at The Central Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2:30 PM.
