Ellen Nelson, age 93 of Waupaca, WI passed away on April 11, 2023 at Bethany Home. Ellen was born on May 13, 1929; daughter of the late Paul and Minnie (Eastman) Collopy in Hawarden, IA. Her family moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa where Read Obituary
"That unto itself is drawn"...Ellen was a bright light and now she is in the light. She was a good friend and a wise woman. We "churched" together while going to Kingo Lutheran in Shorewood. Knobby was our vet. They had an amazing home and family. Truly someone God placed on this earth the emulate. God Bless this amazing example of human goodness and kindness. May her beloved family find comfort in knowing that on some level, immortality exists!
Ellen always treated me as family--you all did. When I came over to hang out with Jim when we were growing up, it was like a second home, primarily because of your mom. Even seeing her in the last few years, she always treated me and my wife, Jodi, as honored guests. Please accept our condolences, and those of my mom, Joan (they've kept in touch all these years). She will be missed.
Ellen and Knobby were as nice as neighbors can be. We knew Knobby only briefly, but shared many good times with Ellen. Whenever we would visit her, she always asked "Can you sit a spell?" She had a delightful sense of humor and a quick wit. We've missed her as a neighbor for the last couple of years, but we'll always treasure time spent with her.
Let the heavens rejoice at the coming home of this gentle lady. You will be missed. May a spirit of peace be upon the hearts of those who loved you best.
