Elroy Florence's Obituary
Elroy Florence age 92 of King passed away on Monday October 12, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center. Elroy was born on February 4, 1917 the son of Harry and Elizabeth (Nelson) Florence. He married the late Mary Jane (Groeschel) Florence in 1941. He served as an officer in the Navy during WWII, in the South Pacific. After his retirement in 1979, he spent over twenty years RVing around the U.S. and Canada. He is survived by daughters Barbara (Bill) Bergstreser of Shiocton, WI, Beverly (Larry) Fields of Farmland, IN, Kathy Florence of Corvallis, OR, JoEllen (Rick) Gevaert of Pawhuska, OK, and Linda (Marty) Mathys of Oshkosh, WI, son David (Jane) Florence of Green Bay, WI, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and son-in-law David Konshak.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Elizabeth Florence, his wife Mary Jane Florence, daughter Betty, brothers Eugene and Orin Florence, and sister Ethel Christiansen.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 15, 2009 at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King at 11 A.M.. Chaplain Russ Lowe will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 15 from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M. Burial will be held at a later date in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
