Elsie Johanknecht's Obituary
Mrs. Elsie B Johanknecht, age 89, of Plover, Formerly of Waupaca, passed away Friday, March 4th, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. Mrs. Johanknecht was born in the Town of Sherwood, Clark County, Wisconsin on May 18, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert H. and Minnie (Ferguson) Bender. She married Leroy Roy W. Johanknecht on April 6, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1996. She worked in Housekeeping at Wisconsin Veterans Home King, worked in the lunch program at Lind Center School for three years and baby-sitter for six youngsters. Elsie was a volunteer at Pine Ridge Manor, Bethany Home and Riverside Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member or the Gorgonas Club in Rural. She was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, secretary for the Administrative Board, and held all offices in the United Methodist Women's Club. She is survived by Daughter: Judy (William) Bodenheimer, Stevens Point, WI; Son: Ronald (Sandra) Johanknecht, Cranberry Township, PA; Grandchildren: Kurt (Karen) Johanknecht, Cranberry Township, PA; Melissa (Wes) Bowlby, North Chelmsford, MA; Todd (Michelle) Bodenheimer, Portland, Oregon; Jodi Bodenheimer, Las Vegas; and 5 great grandchildren Sister: Marie Johanknecht, Waupaca; Sister-in-law: Helen Johanknecht, Waupaca. Elsie was preceded in death by 1 Sister, 4 brothers and 1 granddaughter. Funeral Service will be held at Parfreyville United Methodist Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10th, with Reverends Dong Su Lee and Ray Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Rural Cemetery in the Town Dayton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Thursday 10-11 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parfreyville United Methodist Church.
