Emil Slowik's Obituary
Emil J. Slowik, age 91, of Waupaca, WI , passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Riverside Medical Center. Emil was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1914. On June 19, 1937 Emil married Nettie Paul in Chicago, IL and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2000. Emil worked at the U.S. Post Office in downtown Chicago until retirement. He is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community Waupaca, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his sisters in law: Catherine Vaux, Waupaca, WI.; Eleanor (Peter) Kraak, Wilmington, DE.; Marion (Wilbur) Weaver, Dowagiac, MI..his nieces: Patricia Vaux, Waupaca, WI.; Deborah Kraak, Wilmington, DE.; Karen Corey;his nephews: James Vaux, JR., Waupaca, WI.; Daniel Kraak, New York; Daniel Weaver, Dowagiac, MI.; David Weaver, Detroit, MI.; Gary Weaver, Dowagiac, MI.; Jeffrey Corey; and Great Nieces: Gretchen Halverson, Waupaca, WI.; Jennifer Reimann, Minneapolis, MN.. Also surviving are great great nieces, Danielle Akright & Alexandra Murphy and a great great nephew, Jacob Thomas Reimann. Emil was preceded in death by his Wife, Nettie and two sisters in law: Rose and Ann. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 3 with Reverend Father James Vennix ,officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12 Noon until the time of mass at the church. A Memorial Fund has been established in Emil's name. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
