Eric Matthew Daggett's Obituary
It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Eric Matthew Daggett on November 24,2023. After battling cancer for over a year, Eric has finally found peace. He never gave up hoping for a cure and his determination and love for life kept him fighting until the end. Eric was born on August 15, 1975, in Wheatridge, Colorado to Tom & Sara Daggett. Shortly after moving to Waupaca, Wisconsin, he met an honorary brother, Chad Hudziak (Samantha). In 1979, he became an older brother to Patrick Daggett (Maureen). In their childhood, they shared the thrill of skiing and ski jumping and was recognized as a member of several Junior National Ski Jumping teams. In the spring of 1995, Eric met Jen, who instantly became the love and light of his life. After meeting Jen’s family, it didn’t take long for him to become a son to Melvin & Marsha Hansen and gained two additional brothers Shannon (Kelly) and Blaine (Kalie) Hansen. Eric & Jen were married on September 28th, 2002 and together created an extraordinary life with their two beautiful children, Alayna & Reid in Greenville Wisconsin. From a very young age their hobbies and interests were instilled in their children. Together the four of them have shared many cherished memories that created a connection that can never be broken. Eric had a wonderful sense of humor, and made light of even the most difficult situations. Eric had an endless zest for life. His favorite summer days were spent with his son Reid on the golf course and boating on the Chain O’Lakes with his “Waupaca family”. Concerts and music fed his soul, and brought him peace. Ultimately using music as a way to bring people together until his very last breath. He took pride in his smoked meats and often ended the night sipping bourbon among good company. With Colorado in his roots, snowmobiling & skiing filled his winter days. Somehow, Eric was always the voice of reason and could be found lending a helping hand in pulling his snowmobiling buddies out of the bushes. Eric always found the good in others and complimented them on things they didn't see in themselves, no matter their walks of life, Eric was a loyal and trustworthy friend. His love for his nieces, nephews, and godchildren, otherwise referred to as “little buddies” or “cousin turds” never went unnoticed. He was always so proud of Levyn, Jaxon, Kolt, Brantley, Sydney, Adalynn, Savanna, Taylor, and Khloe. He will forever be their guardian angel. Above all, his favorite part in every adventure was always the family and friends he shared it with. Eric was an amazing husband, wonderful father, and an outstanding friend.
A memorial service will be held on Friday December 1, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville, WI. Pastor Steve Kline will Officiate.
