Erwin Foertsch's Obituary
Erwin Foertsch was called home on Monday, January 9, 2023. He was born on January 21, 1933 to the late Henry and Florence (nee Williams) Foertsch. He was united in marriage to the late Jean Foertsch on October 24, 1970.
Erwin served in the United States air force as an air traffic controller during the Korean war, he then pursued a career as a master electrician working for Pieper Electric until his retirement.
Erwin and Jean made their home in the Town of Brookfield where he was dedicated to the community serving as a volunteer fireman for many years. Family was very important to Erwin, there were many memories made with family vacations, travel and of course gardening with his wife Jean and the family dog Pokey. In addition to caring for his own family he was the neighborhood dad to the many friends of his three children. He was never short on giving advice to all and always had an opinion to give.
Erwin and Jean spent their retirement years first at the lake home in Wautoma and then they settled in Waupaca. His community work continued in his retirement serving as a volunteer for many years at the Veterans Home in King fixing electric wheelchairs.
Erwin is survived by his daughters Linda Lien, Lori (fiancé Randy Pinsch) Stoltz, grandchildren Julie (Brian) Jarvis, Laurie (Dan) Pritzl, Zach (Karla) Lien, great grandchildren Brandon, Claire, Luke, Brielle, Izetta and Benjamin. Nephew's Doug (Patti) Foertsch, Brian (DeeAnne) Foertsch, Darrell Foertsch, Niece Debra (Mel) Demmitt. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Erwin is preceded in death by his Wife Jean, parents Henry and Florence Foertsch, son Jerry Hankey son-in-law Christopher Lien, Brother Kenneth Foertsch, sister Delores Schmitz, sister-in-law MaryAnn Foertsch and brother-in-law John Schmitz.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
