Kathy and I were so sad to hear of Uncle Gene's passing. Our condolences to Ross, Rick, Kim and family. He always lightened the mood at family gatherings and could be counted on for a joke or a story. My fondest memories go way back to a few joint family vacations camping trips, picnics and just visits to any of the numerous houses in which he always seemed to be working on a project or two. He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP.

I go way back knowing Gene as my brother and he were long time friends. He wound up marrying his sister Marge. We were so lucky to add him to family gatherings as he had that rare personality to make everyone feel good. What a grand sense of humor! And should you hear any commotion from upstairs its just the angels laughing a lot more these days I'm certain. He is so missed by eveyone who knew him. RIP. Warmest sympathies to the family

My Mom, Nancy Girouard (Wierschem), always remarked what a wonderful sense of humor Gene had. She enjoyed telling the story about Gene's recovery after Korea. At one point Gene turned to the nurse and said, "Please tell me will I still be able to dance?" The nurse replied, "Of course you will." "Good!" said Gene, "Because I never was able to dance before!"
