Almond, WI
Age 76 - passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her residence in Almond. She was born on May 20, 1936 in Cudahy, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Marguerite (Steele) Porst. She married Norman E. Kurkowski on October 2, 1954 at Heffron, WI. Norman preceded her in death on June 26, 2011.
Eva is survived by three sons: Robert Kurkowski of Wausau, Bruce (Tamara) Kurkowski of Stevens Point, and Brad (Tina) Kurkowski of Plover, a grandson: Jeremy (Amy) Kurkowski of Stevens Point, and two brothers: Ronald (Marilyn) Porst of Cudahy, and Herbert (Carolyn) Porst of Dillsburg, PA. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Eva was retired from the office of Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Almond and had served the Village for over 20 years. She had a number of interests including crafting, and doing woodworking with Norman. She was also and avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles every day.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Almond, WI on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Brian Roehrborn, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Interment of cremains will be in the Almond Village Cemetery. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
