Evalyn M (Millie) Milner's Obituary
Evalyn (Millie) M. Milner, age 78, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 at Crystal River Nursing & Rehab. Center. Millie was born in Belleville, Kansas on September 19, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Harry William and Magdalene (Dunback) Milner, of Republic, Kansas. She served in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion at King. Millie was the first female Police officer in the City of Waupaca and served for 21 years. She was a cat lover; picking up a stray when ever she could. She also liked woodworking, gardening; especially roses and working in the yard. She is survived by Sister: Carol Slubowski, Salina, Kansas; Nephews: Steve (Karen) Slubowski and family, Sparta, Kentucky; Mark (Chris) Slubowski and family, Salina, Kansas. Evalyn is also survived by her beloved cat Baby and her extended family and friends: Karen Peters & Wanda Lee of Weyauwega and Nancy Nelson of Waupaca. She was preceded in death by her parents one brother and one sister. Memorial Service will be held at Holly Funeral Home-Waupaca at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5th, with Julie Sorenson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment of cremains will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Republic, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Special Olympics Wisconsin Chapter.
