Evelyn A. Wysocki's Obituary
Evelyn A. Wysocki, age 91, of the Town of Buena Vista, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Whispering Pines in Plover. Evelyn was born in the Town of Belmont, Portage County on May 9, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Zawacki) Putz. On May 30, 1944 Evelyn married Ernest F. Wysocki in Heffron and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1993. Evelyn received a teaching degree from the Stevens Point Normal School and taught at Dopp School in Portage County until her marriage. She is a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Evelyn participated in numerous church and community activities. She was a CCD teacher for many years and worked with 4-H youth. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, playing Scrabble, polka dancing, and following the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers
Evelyn is survived by her sons: Mark Wysocki, McFarland, WI; David (Pauline) Wysocki, Stevens Point; Gregory (Carl Parker) Wysocki, White Plaines, NY; her daughters: Janice (Charles Jr.) Sopa, Amherst; Germaine (George) Souik, Sheboygan; Mary Kay (Terry) Olsen, Bancroft and Christine (Richard) Knapinski, Neenah. Also surviving are her 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; her brother: William Putz Jr., Arbor Vitae, WI and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband-Ernest, a grandchild, two great-grandchildren and two sisters: Margaret Larkins and Bernice Tarvis.
The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 17 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Town of Buena Vista with Father William Menzel & Deacon James Trzinski, presiding. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4 to 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst with a General Rosary at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 9 AM until the time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the St. Maximilian Kolbe Building Fund. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to extend its sincere thanks for the loving care provided by the staff of Whispering Pines over the past 13 months and to Ministry Home Care Hospice for their support.
