EVELYN J. GURNEY
STEVENS POINT, WI Age 77 – died on Friday, September 16, 2005 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, WI. She was born on May 24, 1928 in Stevens Point, WI, a daughter of the late Alex and Dorothy (Zimbauer) Feltz. She married James A. Gurney on August 30, 1947 in Stevens Point, WI. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1999. Evelyn is survived by a brother: Albert (Jean) Feltz of Scandinavia, WI, three sisters: Gladys (Robert) Flisakowski of Stevens Point, WI, Irene (Morris) Piotrowski of Stevens Point, WI, and Jean (Fran) Mattke of Portage, WI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Gurney, her parents, a brother, and three sisters. Evelyn was a member of the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Fancher. She had been an office worker for the Consolidated Paper Co. in Stevens Point, WI. She had also been an office worker for the Feltz Lumber Co. in Stevens Point, WI. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Fancher on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM, with Father Robert Pedretti, officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in the name of Evelyn J. Gurney. The Jungers - Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
