Evelyn Hanson's Obituary
Evelyn E. Hanson, age 88, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Sunday, June 28th, 2009 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born in the Town of Belmont, Portage County, WI on September 24, 1920, the daughter of Dominique and Clementina (Zajechowski) Churas. Evelyn married Verland Hanson on October 5, 1940 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1998. She enjoyed dancing, reading, sports, and getting together with family and friends. She is survived by a Son: David (Geraldine) Hanson, Waupaca; Grandchildren: Richard (Stacey) Hanson, Oshkosh; Christine (Eric) Bauer, Larson; Step Granddaughter: Charlene (Charles) Niemuth, Waupaca; Great Grandchildren: Danyelle (Dereck) Decker, Oshkosh; Jeremy Hanson, Weyauwega; Hannah Bauer, Larson; Step Great Grandchildren: Amy (Mike) Dietrich, Amherst; Nathan Niemuth, Appleton; Matthew Niemuth, Waupaca; Three Great Great Granchildren; Sisters: Rose Smith, Waupaca; Julia Churas, Amherst; Sister Virginia Churas, Green Bay; Brother: Antone Churas, Amherst; Brother-in-law: Gerald Hanson; and a Son-in-law: George Fisher, Arkansas. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Verland; Daughter, Barbara Fisher; and Brothers: Lewis and Carl Churas. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. A visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family.
