Florence Bauer's Obituary
Florence H. Bauer, age 89, of Waupaca, WI., passed away on Thursday, May 28th, 2009 at her residence at Park Vista in Waupaca. She was born in Waupaca on August 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry and Carrie (Olson) Nicolaisen. Florence married Otto F. Bauer on October 11, 1941 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1997. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and the Riverside Medical Center Auxiliary. Florence loved to sew and her expertise as a seamstress was well known in the Waupaca area, her skills will be greatly missed. Florence loved to attend the sporting events of her grandchildren. She was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Park Vista, the staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, Dr. Earl Anderson and his staff and Dr. Gil Burgstede. Survivors include 3 Sons: Larry (Marilyn) Bauer, New London, WI; Dennis (Jennifer) Bauer, Neenah, WI; Richard (Joyce) Bauer, Wrightstown, WI; 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer (Mark) Moeller, Shiocton, WI; Leanne (Douglas) Selle, New London, WI; Julie (Bill) Gardner, Appleton, WI; Tim (Mary Jo) Bauer, Waupaca, WI; Andrew Bauer, Wrightstown, WI; Eric Bauer, Wrightstown, WI; 5 Great Grandchildren: Tyler & MaKenna Moeller; Jared, Owen & Noah Selle; 2 Step Grandchildren: Edward (Anna) Stelow, Charlottesville, VA; Elizabeth (Mark) Sternig, Green Bay, WI; 7 Step Great Grandchildren: Mary, Clara, Rebecca & Lucy Stelow; Noah, Greta & Hannah Sternig; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Bauer, Manawa, WI; Brother-in-law: Frank Bauer, Scandinavia, WI; also Special Friends: Elaine Nelson, Mary Ann Doyle and Beverly Nieland. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, granddaughter - Pam Bauer, two brothers - Ervin and Earl Nicolaisen, brothers-in-law, John Bauer, Clarence Doyle and Norbert Kininski and sisters-in-law, Anna Doyle, Pat Bauer, Eleanor Bednorski, Margaret Kininski, Sister Anthony Bauer and Sister Bernard Bauer. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009, with Rev. Brian Belongia & Rev. James Vennix, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4 - 8 PM, with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Florence Bauer.
