Florence Lutz's Obituary
Florence M. Lutz, age 101, of Amherst Jct., passed away on Sunday, September 17th, 2006 at Stevens Point Care Center. She was born in the Town of Richford, Waushara Co., WI., on August 9, 1905, a daughter of the late Max and Agnes (Schoenek) Pohl. At the age of 2 years, her parents moved to the Town of Buena Vista, where she attended Sunnyside School through 8th grade. She attended Stevens Point Normal School and graduated from the Rural Department in 1923. She taught schools in Portage and Waupaca County. Florence married Leo Lutz on April 3, 1929 in Amherst. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Amherst. Survivors include a Daughter: Margery (Paul) Stone, Oregon, WI; Sons: Alvin (Shirley) Lutz, Amherst, WI; Richard (Olivia) Lutz, Amherst Jct., WI; Gerald (Marjorie) Lutz, Amherst Jct., WI; 16 Grandchildren; 31 Great Grandchildren; 2 Step Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters-in-law: Helen Pohl, Almond, WI. and Sarah Pohl, Almond, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 grandson. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 21, 2006, with Reverend Chris Schwanz officiating. Interment will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery, Amherst. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and on Thursday from 10 AM until time of service at the church.
