Francis E. Scherr's Obituary
Francis E. Scherr, age 79 of Marshfield, WI passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born on July 15, 1937, the son of the late George and Julia (Bell) Scherr. Francis married Virginia Howard on October 20, 1962 in Marshfield. He joined the U.S. Marines on October 25, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI. Francis retired from the U.S. Marines after 23 years on July 31, 1980 in Norfolk, VA. For many years, Francis collected die-cast cars and enjoyed watching Nascar Racing.
Francis is survived by his wife; Virginia Scherr of Marshfield, WI, daughter; Marcy (Jim) Kane of Pittsville, WI, son; George (Rae Ann) Scherr of Milwaukee, WI, grandchildren; Ashley (Dane) Kozicki, Kayla Schuld, Zachery Schuld, Stephanie (Tom) Sowle; great-grandchildren; Kiley Kozicki, Hailey Kozicki, Evelyn Sowle, and Emerson Sowle, siblings; Rita Panske, Joe Schroeder, Joan Stargardt, Robert (Angie) Scherr, Frances (Kenneth) Collins, Sheila (Dennis) Dishinger; also, many other relatives, and friends.
